About Speaker

Raja Krishna Menon started his career by working with a renowned ad filmmaker D. Radhakrishnan and soon began editing and packaging trailers for iconic Bollywood films like Raja Hindustani, Army and Loafer, to name a few. In 2003 he wrote, directed and produced his first feature film titled ‘Bas Yun Hi’ starring Nandita Das and Purab Kohli. In 2008 he wrote and directed his second feature film ‘Barah Aana’ starring Naseeruddin Shah and Vijay Raaz, which was a resounding critical success. It was selected for Chicago International Film Festival, America’s oldest and most prestigious film festival. He continued to produce commercials and documentaries for Oglivy, JWT, Creative Land Asia, BBH, Ulka etc under his banner Bandra West Pictures.

Continuing his journey of making films spanning a variety of genres, he helmed ‘Airlift’ starring Akshay Kumar and Nimrit Kaur in the lead in 2016 which proved to be an immense commercial success at the box office. It struck a chord with audiences, combining patriotism, human drama and a compelling true story. After this, he directed ‘Chef’ in 2017, based on John Favreau’s American film of the same name and starring Saif Ali Khan. Most recently, he directed biographical war drama ‘Pippa’, starring the rising star Ishan Khatter.
